The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures.

Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces.
Operate light and heavy floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
Vacuum rugs and spot clean, shampooing when directed.
Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces.
Wash windowsills, interior door glass, partition glass, and specified windows.
Wash glass and trim at entrance doors.
Wash and spot clean interior walls.
Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily.
Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
Collect building trash daily and place it in approved containers in the designated collection area.
Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways.
Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
Perform any other assigned duties.

Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
