About the Role

Responsibilities
- Build, test, and implement solutions for new data acquisition, creating end-to-end processes.
- Connect to various third-party APIs using Python to retrieve complex data from multiple endpoints.
- Implement processes to retain and refresh data within business systems.
- Generate curated datasets from raw input tables using the business's preferred ETL tools.
- Ensure all datasets have clear, documented lineage and integrated testing.
- Support the development and operation of databases for invoice validation, cost reconciliation, and supplier portfolio management.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant tools.
- Automate routine analysis to drive reporting and deliver business intelligence.
- Support the Energy Data Analyst in migrating complex models to materialize tables within the business's data platform.
- Create, calculate, and distribute relevant information and reports to stakeholders.
- Maintain procedures and controls for the correct operation and updates of databases and third-party software.
- Interact regularly with front, middle, and back office, DSR team, Operations, Finance, and senior management.
- Comply with all H&S policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers on tool utilization.
- Understand requirements and find solutions to meet business and external customer needs.
- Build proof of concepts with the business to showcase capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.
- Provide training and support to non-technical users to maximize analytics tool utilization.
- Support driving solutions to help Veolia achieve its purpose of ecological transformation.
- Drive and support the rollout and delivery of carbon reporting for internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in data engineering and analytics.
- Expertise in Power BI, dbt, Databricks, and Azure.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data manipulation libraries and frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and big data technologies.
