About the Role

The Production Associate prepares materials and equipment for assembly, assembles products, and packages products.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment and materials are ready for production
  • Place raw materials into manufacturing machines, operate equipment for the assembly process, package finished products, and organize them for delivery
  • Maintain material and supplies inventory
  • Monitor equipment and production to increase productivity and make necessary recommendations
  • Process woodchips to assess for and remove any foreign material and debris
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s culture of safety and employee ownership
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
  • Drives and operates vehicles and equipment as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to adhere to company and industry safety requirements
  • Ability to learn quickly and to follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment, and power tools such as a skid-steer loader, battery operated wire tie gun, etc.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, flexibility, and self-motivated with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
  • Must be able to communicate with others, including vendors and represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner
  • Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information
  • Has a minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (dependent upon Division and utility/contract requirements) and DOT medical card in accordance with FMCSA regulations
  • Drives a vehicle to, from or within the work area
  • Keeps informed of new equipment and specifications, standards, practices, and operating procedures
  • Effective bending, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Occasionally reach upward and downward
  • Possesses the ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Consistently sit, talk, use a computer and keyboard, and have near acuity
  • Consistently stand, walk, and have far acuity
  • Routine exposure to indoor and outdoor working conditions
  • Routine exposure to noise, vibration, working hazards such as proximity to moving parts, mechanical equipment, moving vehicles, gasoline powered equipment, electrical current, heights, exposure to heat, exposure to chemicals, work in close quarters, narrow aisles or passageways, communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and a variety of pests
