About the Role
Alta Equipment Company is seeking a Territory Account Manager to cover the greater Buffalo and Western New York area, based out of our Batavia, NY branch. This role involves driving sales for JCB, Toro, & Volvo brands, managing accounts, achieving sales goals, and building strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales for JCB, Toro, & Volvo brands - both large and compact equipment.
- Oversee accounts and territory, handle financial details, and find new business opportunities using different mediums of communication.
- Achieve sales goals set by yourself and your Sales Manager.
- Maximize your time and manage your territory efficiently.
- Visit customers to create new opportunities and understand their needs.
- Use e-mail, phone calls, texts and digital social media to keep in touch with prospects and clients.
- Work with your Sales Manager to create and present quotes that address customer equipment needs.
- Perform valuable walk arounds of equipment to explain our products to customers.
- Perform customer maintenance weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Execute 50+ cold calls per week to build your customer portfolio.
- Take part in sales training and use provided tools to learn about our products and services.
- Submit sales orders for attachments and accessories.
- Demonstrate products at customer sites.
- Work with all departments to develop sales strategies that exceed customer expectations.
- Offer tailored financing programs to meet individual customer needs.

Requirements
- Equipment and industry experience preferred.
- Strong relationship building, selling and closing abilities.
- Experience with heavy construction equipment sales a plus but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- A high-energy, fast-paced individual with the ability to change gears quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively, both in writing and speaking.
- Ability to handle calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and basic algebra and geometry.
- Strong ability to address practical problems and interpret various instructions.
- Regularly will use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will sit; Occasionally will stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
- No special vision requirements.
- Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift 26 to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather condition.
