About the Role
Performs maintenance and repair, routine and on-demand services on non-technical facility components, such as walls and floors. Ensures work is performed in accordance with established processes and practices, complying with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection
- Performs regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection
- Provides observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies, and suggests enhancements and repair
- Monitors assigned facility by conducting walkthroughs and non-technical component monitoring and inspection
- Responds to routine and on-demand service requests
- Performs preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components
- Records resolution data within the service maintenance management database, ensuring work meets quality and contract requirements
- Receives, tracks, monitors, and reports status of maintenance and repair work within the service maintenance management database, initiating documents for formal approval
- Assists in the implementation of the preventative maintenance (PM) program, ensuring deficiencies are identified, recorded, escalated, and documented
- Participates in and assists with facility-related projects
- Ensures work performance complies with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection, and other applicable requirements
- Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement
- Submits all expenditures on a timely basis
- Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
- Minimum 1-3 years facility operations and maintenance work experience
- High school diploma
- Trade related training is an asset
- Ability to adhere to and properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair non-technical facility components
- Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair
- Ability to research, learn, and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset; ability to perform work safely
- Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Demonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or beginning to work towards one
- Valid driver's license
