About the Role

PAWSitive Veterinary of New York is seeking passionate veterinary students to join our team. This externship offers real-world experience, mentorship, and potential future opportunities within our practice. We focus on providing attentive and advanced veterinary care in a supportive and educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough veterinary exams.
• Develop personalized vaccination plans.
• Conduct parasite and heartworm screening.
• Perform FeLV/FIV testing for cats.
• Administer microchipping.
• Offer nutritional guidance.
• Provide gentle care for ill or injured pets.
• Explain treatment options to clients.
• Refer urgent cases to appropriate clinics.
• Utilize advanced veterinary technology.
• Employ gentle veterinary handling techniques.
• Participate in team-based problem-solving.
• Ensure warm welcomes and smooth visits for clients.
• Provide attentive follow-up care.
• Educate clients on ongoing veterinary care.

Requirements

• Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
