About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Lead UI Designer with the craft, creative authority, and leadership experience to elevate our digital output and contribute to the studio's future direction. This role involves setting visual design direction for multi-modal digital and AI experiences, managing and mentoring designers, owning client relationships, and contributing to new business development.
Responsibilities
- Set visual design direction across multi-modal digital and AI experiences, including motion 3D and augmented reality.
- Bring rigor and perspective to take work from concept to reality.
- Line-manage and mentor senior and junior designers.
- Own accounts and contribute meaningfully to new business.
- Lead client relationships, manage expectations, and maintain trust.
- Contribute to proposals and pitches.
- Spot opportunities within existing accounts.
- Work fluidly across disciplines, bridging visual craft with 3D, UX thinking, engineering constraints, and client strategy.
- Integrate new AI tools thoughtfully into workflows to elevate speed, craft, and thinking.
- Design for AI-driven experiences.
- Maintain high standards for detail, typography, hierarchy, layout, and interaction.
- Stay steady under ambiguity and help the team do the same.
Requirements
- Track record of delivering high-impact visual and UI work across a range of industries in a fast-paced creative agency environment.
- Ability to navigate complexity and produce exceptional output.
- Confidence in setting visual design direction, grounded in craft and strategic thinking.
- Ability to lead clients and collaborators on a design journey.
- Direct experience managing designers, providing clear, constructive feedback, and supporting development.
- Comfortable leading client relationships.
- Understanding of the commercial side of a studio and interest in winning work.
- Working knowledge of motion design and its contribution to overall experience.
- Actively explore and integrate new AI tools into workflow.
- Rigorous attention to detail in typography, hierarchy, layout, and interaction.
- Adaptability to iteration, testing, and starting again.
- Genuine passion for the work and the craft itself.
