About the Role

A heavy duty cleaner is responsible for cleaning hard floor surfaces, carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and collecting and removing garbage. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Perform stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets, and cleaning windows upon request.
• Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Clean glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms daily, including damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Assist the supervisor with required tasks.
• Monitor and report potential defects such as clogged urinals and lights out to supervisors.
• Clean showers between two buildings located across the street from each other.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing.
• Operate compactors and heavy-duty cleaning machines.
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Change garbage.

Requirements

• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
