About the Role
The HLA Service Technician is responsible for ensuring a strong and reliable fleet by inspecting, testing, and servicing electrical/hydraulic construction equipment for regular maintenance, with safety as a top priority.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all equipment is rental-ready by cleaning, checking and properly refueling.
- Follow the appropriate checklist and procedures.
- Read and refer to owner’s manuals and schematics.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as checking/gapping spark plugs, replacing air filters, greasing/lubricating bearings/joints, and replacing/tensioning belts.
- Operate and test equipment under actual operating conditions.
- Determine the serviceability or need for equipment repair.
- Complete all services or repairs to OEM specifications.
- Possess excellent product knowledge, including features, benefits, and safe operating techniques.
- Ensure fair and consistent customer treatment and resolve issues as they arise.
- Follow all paperwork and computer procedures related to servicing equipment.
- Maintain inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing required PPE and following SOPs and policies.
- Report any unsafe working conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of servicing heavy equipment or related experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Action-oriented with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
