About the Role

The Quad Preparatory School is seeking a full-time sixth-grade science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves providing academic instruction and social-emotional support to students in a small classroom setting, with opportunities for one-to-one instructional time. The school is dedicated to transforming the lives of neurodiverse, twice-exceptional individuals by redefining the school experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement high-quality, engaging science lessons differentiated to meet student learning needs.
Regularly assess students and curriculum, adapting content and instruction as appropriate.
Communicate assessment results to parents.
Implement the school’s philosophy of progressive and personalized education for twice-exceptional children.
Collaborate with K-12 science teachers to ensure a vertically aligned science program.
Support students during co-curricular programming.
Create and maintain an orderly and aesthetic learning environment that accounts for students’ social, emotional, and executive functioning needs.
Maintain accurate records using the school’s learning management system and student work portfolios.
Empower students to take charge of their learning by providing necessary scaffolding, modeling, materials, and resources.
Collaborate with academic and psychosocial staff to plan and facilitate cross-curricular, inquiry-based projects.
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding academic and social-emotional progress.
Follow the professional code and policies of the school.
Utilize technology including Veracross, Google Classroom, and Google Suite.
Attend all faculty and staff meetings, professional development sessions, and required special events.
Perform other duties as assigned, including teaching electives, serving as an academic advisor, and/or leading a student club.
