About the Role

Cherry Bekaert's Forensic & Dispute Advisory Services practice is seeking a Director to lead complex forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation support engagements. This role involves a leadership position in practice growth, scaling operations, guiding client engagements, mentoring teams, and expanding client relationships. You will deliver clear financial analysis, damages assessments, dispute advisory work products, and expert witness testimony across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation support engagements from strategy through delivery.
  • Guide the preparation and review of discovery requests, financial analyses, damages calculations, and engagement deliverables.
  • Develop and review approaches to calculating or refuting damages in litigation matters.
  • Manage multiple client relationships while communicating results, findings, and work product.
  • Participate at the leadership level in driving practice growth and expanding client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop professionals across the team.
  • Contribute to a culture grounded in mutual respect, collaboration, trust, accountability, and excellence.
  • Provide expert witness testimony.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant business discipline.
  • Advanced degree and/or professional certification such as CPA, CFF or CFE.
  • Minimum 10+ years of related forensic/audit experience.
  • Prior expert witness testimony within a national/regional public accounting or professional services firm.
  • Advanced forensic accounting, economic damages, litigation support, audit, public accounting, or corporate accounting experience.
  • Ability to manage complex client assignments in deadline-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, delegate work, review deliverables, and support multiple engagements.
  • Demonstrated business development success, including experience expanding established client relationships and developing new opportunities.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience employing AI/BI systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
  • Ability to work independently or within a group.
  • Ability to travel as needed, expected to be less than 25%.
  • Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

  • $174,200 - $302,400
