Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with Internet customers and prospects via their preferred method (phone, email, in-person).
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all dealership products and services.
- Satisfies the transportation needs of Internet-generated customers.
- Directs customers to product information resources, including online options.
- Assists customers in selecting vehicles.
- Understands the psychology of Internet customers to facilitate store visits and close transactions.
- Checks and responds to emails promptly, forwarding messages to appropriate personnel.
- Handles all Internet sales inquiries personally.
- Coordinates Internet promotions with other dealership sales and advertising efforts.
- Ensures the website address is prominently displayed throughout the dealership.
- Researches auto-buying services and acts as a liaison for services used by the dealership.
- Collaborates with the webmaster to update the website regularly.
- Maintains a customer database to capture repeat business.
- Understands federal, state, and local laws governing retail automobile sales.
- Establishes personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and develops strategies to meet them.
- Stays informed about new products, features, accessories, and their customer benefits.
- Attends product and sales training as requested.
- Schedules first service appointments.
- Attends sales meetings.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Skills
