About the Role

IVC Evidensia is seeking two Design Managers to lead their Design leadership team. One role focuses on customer-facing digital experiences, and the other on products for veterinary professionals. These are hands-on people leadership roles managing a team of approximately five Product Designers, partnering closely with Product and Engineering. The goal is to create an environment for designers to do their best work, developing people, managing capacity, raising quality, and turning ambitious ideas into functional products. The company is undergoing a significant transformation, requiring comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop your team by coaching Product Designers through feedback, career development, and clear expectations.
  • Own team health and delivery by balancing priorities, capacity, and wellbeing while partnering with Product and Engineering.
  • Build the team by leading hiring, setting a high talent bar, and shaping necessary skills and experience.
  • Raise the quality bar through coaching, critique, and review to ensure consistent delivery of brilliant, joined-up experiences.
  • Represent Design by partnering with Product and Engineering leadership on priorities, delivery, capacity, quality, and risk.
  • Stay close to the craft by jumping into Figma, prototyping, or helping unblock the team when needed.

Requirements

  • Track record of coaching and developing Product Designers, including supporting career progression and managing performance.
  • Led teams within fast-moving product organizations, balancing quality with pace and delivery.
  • Ability to think in systems and end-to-end journeys.
  • Capacity to represent Design and build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders.
  • Shipped digital products and remain comfortable with Figma, prototyping, and modern design practices.
  • Experience hiring Product Designers and building strong teams.
  • Lead with kindness, humility, and authenticity, while being comfortable having difficult conversations.
  • Experience with Design Systems and AI-enabled design tools.
  • For the Customer role: approximately 5+ years' experience managing and developing Product Designers in complex digital product environments.
  • For the Clinics role: approximately 2+ years' experience managing and developing Product Designers, with the ambition to grow into broader strategic leadership.
