About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join the Product & Technology team at Newcross Healthcare. This role involves shaping digital products used by healthcare professionals, care providers, and internal teams. You will solve complex problems and create simple, intuitive, and accessible user experiences across the full product lifecycle, from discovery to continuous improvement. Healthcare experience is not essential; we value your problem-solving and collaborative skills. Experience in SaaS, marketplaces, workforce technology, logistics, fintech, travel, or booking platforms is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Work with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to understand problems, explore opportunities, and shape product direction.
- Translate complex workflows, systems, and requirements into clear, simple, and intuitive experiences.
- Conduct and contribute to user research, usability testing, and discovery activities.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights, behavioral data, and product metrics to inform and validate design decisions.
- Create user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity product designs.
- Collaborate closely with Engineers during delivery to ensure the intended experience is realized.
- Define success measures and use feedback and product performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system to create scalable, consistent, and accessible experiences.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design throughout the product development process.
- Clearly communicate design rationale, including evidence, assumptions, and trade-offs.
- Collaborate with other designers through critiques, workshops, and knowledge sharing.
- Help continuously improve design processes within cross-functional product teams.
- Explore appropriate uses of AI and emerging design tools to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and delivery while maintaining high design quality.
Requirements
- Experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, or similar, ideally focusing on digital products over marketing or brand work.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, including the thinking and decision-making process.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams alongside Product Managers and Engineers.
- Strong UX and interaction design skills, with the ability to simplify complicated journeys, systems, and workflows.
- Experience designing responsive web products and/or native mobile applications.
- Confidence working with ambiguity and making informed decisions with incomplete information.
- Experience using user research and usability testing to influence product decisions.
- An understanding of product metrics and how design outcomes are measured post-launch.
- Strong prototyping skills and experience with tools such as Figma.
- Experience working with or contributing to design systems and reusable component libraries.
- A good understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, including WCAG.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to explain and constructively defend design decisions.
- The ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other designers and helping to raise design quality across a team.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and communicating the evidence, rationale, and trade-offs behind significant product decisions.
