About the Role

Provide post-sales engineering review, leadership, and support for won projects in Australia and New Zealand. Offer guidance and expertise on critical infrastructure projects, including product and service application and installation, with support from vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth deployment of major projects. Provide technical leadership among peers and drive decision-making.

Responsibilities

Attend documentation hand-over processes from Pre-Sales to Post-Sales and from Post-Sales to Project Management.
Interrogate documentation for buildability and budget compliance upon receipt.
Review all aspects of proposals, from Statement of Compliance through to Commissioning and Hand-over.
Act as technical authority for engineering decisions and design philosophies throughout the project lifecycle.
Engage with partners, contractors, and vendors to assure cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
Work with Product Managers, Service Teams, and factories to ensure optimal solutions.
Attend project meetings on scope of supply, technical qualifications, and testing procedures.
Assist with project ownership through delivery, commissioning, and hand-over.
Ensure thorough hand-over to Project Management upon arrival of units in country.
Operate a comprehensive documentation register for all project files.
Check new revisions for impacts on Vertiv’s scope of supply and communicate technical, cost, and schedule impacts.
Provide completed project documentation to the Project Management Team for client hand-over.
Prepare detailed Scope of Supply to Procurement for vendor works.
Liaise with Sales and Project Managers to capture site, scope, and testing departures.
Provide variation documentation to ensure entry margins are not eroded.
Manage revisions and updates to site documentation post Purchase Order.
Work with PSA team to develop and update as-built drawings.
Lead the identification of engineering lessons learned and drive actionable improvements.
Identify recurring technical, design, or delivery issues and drive corrective actions.
Contribute to the development and refinement of engineering standards, templates, and design tools.
Share technical insights and best practices across teams.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and engineering accountability.
Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality obligations.
Actively promote safety in the workplace.

Requirements

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years engineering experience
Market knowledge of mission critical cooling infrastructure, including application, installation, commissioning, testing and communications connectivity
Knowledge of tender processes and product application for requirements
Good understanding and knowledge of HVAC industry and products
Knowledge of the application of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes
Market knowledge of Power products including application
Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of thermal management products and concepts
Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications
Proficient in technical writing
English writing and presentation skills
ACAD drawing skills would be an advantage
