About the Role
We are looking for a FinOps Specialist to join our funding team. You will be processing data and working directly with our suite of external funders to ensure consistent and timely cashflow into the business. We need someone that has a great eye for detail, is a self-starter, and is willing to act as an ambassador for Finance’s interests to the rest of the business.
Responsibilities
- Process daily funding batches by downloading and checking documents against the expected schedule, identifying discrepancies.
- Input or upload bank transactions into the general ledger/accounting system.
- Ensure all payment and funding batches are complete from processing to cash receipt and validation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for funding batch queries.
- Ensure correct cash movements between accounts to comply with funder requirements.
- Investigate and resolve funder-identified issues promptly, liaising with internal teams.
- Own relationships with funders to ensure seamless and quick funding.
- Identify and accurately allocate outgoing supplier funder payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure correct bank account balances.
- Perform audit requests independently and action process improvements.
- Adhere to internal financial controls and company policies regarding cash handling and bank procedures.
Requirements
- Financial literacy is desirable but alternative relevant experience will be considered.
- High degree of personal accountability and commitment to task completion.
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities with confidence and adaptability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Excellent attention to detail for repetitive and accuracy-critical tasks.
- Excellent Excel/G-suite working knowledge and experience.
- Resilient and adaptable, positive and proactive.
- Ability to investigate and logically resolve discrepancies in bank statements and system postings.
- Energized by working in a fast-paced environment.
- Bias to action and proactive ownership, especially when dealing with problems.
- Highly effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, capable of adapting style to different audiences.
