About the Role
The Planning & Development (P&D) team offers integrated services with deep expertise in UK planning systems, providing clients with impartial advice and innovative solutions. This role involves diverse projects across various sectors, including residential, BTR, mixed-use developments, industrial, logistics, life sciences, urban regeneration, and strategic land promotion.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with members of the London Planning & Development team and other P&D team members in Manchester and Birmingham.
- Develop individual expertise in delivering impartial professional advice and innovative solutions.
- Prepare planning applications, including major applications, representations, pre-application requests, and appeal statements.
- Undertake planning appraisals and provide clear planning strategy and advice.
- Promote sites through Local Plan documents and prepare/submit representations.
- Build effective commercial relationships internally and externally through technical expertise and communication.
- Liaise with Development, Agency, and Capital Markets teams to advise on opportunity sites and present options.
- Attend client meetings and serve as the day-to-day client lead.
- Identify business development and client care opportunities.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members.
Requirements
- Experience in planning projects in London.
- Track record in client care and relationships with clients and local authorities.
- Experience in winning new business and building internal/external networks.
- Self-motivated with a desire to deliver excellent client service.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in managing and/or mentoring others.
