About the Role
Van drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services, working hard to serve local communities and make a positive impact every day. This role offers the chance to help the world take better care of its resources and become a better place for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Driving company vans safely and professionally in line with road traffic legislation and company procedures
- Carrying out daily vehicle walk around checks and reporting defects
- Collecting commercial waste and recycling from customer premises
- Loading and unloading waste containers safely and efficiently
- Ensuring all collections are completed on time and in line with service schedules
- Using in-cab technology and mobile devices to complete route information and report issues
- Reporting contaminated bins, missed collections, access issues or customer concerns
- Maintaining a high standard of health & safety at all times
- Delivering excellent customer service and representing the business professionally
- Supporting depot operations and assisting other crews when required
- Keeping vehicles and work areas clean and tidy
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong awareness of health & safety
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks
Skills
- Van driving experience in busy urban environments
- Experience using handheld devices or route management systems
- Knowledge of commercial waste and recycling streams

- £28,080.00 per annum
