About the Role
The People Operations Manager will serve as the in-country representative for the People team, collaborating with colleagues and managers across the entire employee lifecycle. This role focuses on operational excellence, compliance, engagement, and wellbeing, leveraging expertise in the UK cultural and legislative landscape to enhance the employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end operational delivery of the employment experience, including onboarding, payroll, and benefits.
- Manage cyclical HR processes such as pay review and performance management.
- Handle day-to-day payroll processing and benefits enrollment, liaising with providers and finance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Develop new, effective ways of working in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and application of People policies, providing market insights.
- Support managers in developing their capabilities and leading teams to drive performance.
- Coach and advise managers and staff on performance improvement and issue resolution.
- Help embed company culture and evaluate its evolution as the business grows.
- Implement local initiatives to drive employee engagement, talent retention, and learning and development.
- Manage individual and collective employee relations issues practically and compliantly.
- Handle absence management, termination of employment, and major ER programs.
- Own UK People data integrity, ensuring accuracy and coaching stakeholders on effective use.
- Lead the effective use of Workday and other HR systems.
- Own local People documents, ensuring regular review and updates in line with business needs.
- Document and process joiners, leavers, and job changes.
- Act as the People team lead on UK-oriented programs, including payroll governance, benefits renewals, M&A integrations, and global engagement campaigns.
Requirements
- Ownership of People Operations processes in a global organization.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced, maturing organization.
- Experience working with managers to troubleshoot and develop pragmatic solutions to People-related matters.
- End-to-end experience of the People operations lifecycle (e.g., onboarding, managing payroll, benefits, job changes).
- Experience working with diverse workforces within one organization and an appreciation of differing motivators.
- Awareness of country-specific nuances and experience working with people teams on the ground and legal counsel to understand legislative and cultural backdrops.
