About the Role

The Purchasing Principles & Sustainability department establishes the framework for compliant, sustainable, and efficient procurement. As the Head of Department, you will report directly to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Management, lead a team of 6-10 employees, and significantly contribute to the strategic development of procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personnel and technical leadership for the Purchasing Principles & Sustainability department and continuously develop your team and their competencies.
  • Oversee the strategic development of procurement governance and manage cross-departmental topics and central initiatives within Procurement & Supply Chain Management.
  • Actively shape the development of supplier and risk management, develop standards for sustainable procurement, and ensure compliance with tender principles.
  • Manage data-based steering of procurement and supply chain management, further develop KPI systems, and support the introduction of digital solutions and AI-based applications.
  • Ensure continuous optimization of procurement processes, implementation of sustainability requirements, and establishment of resilient and future-proof supply chains.

Requirements

  • Completed scientific university studies (Master's or Diploma (University)) in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable field of study.
  • Several years of professional and leadership experience in procurement, supplier management, supply chain management, or a comparable environment.
  • Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (minimum C1).

Skills

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic skills, as well as high decision-making and implementation competence.
  • Experience in implementing sustainability requirements in procurement, particularly in handling ESG criteria, supply chain requirements, and regulatory specifications.
  • Experience with digital steering and procurement systems such as SAP and BI applications.
  • Enthusiasm for change and innovation, and the ability to bring together different interests and jointly develop future-proof solutions.
