About the Role
As a new Business Development Manager for Tech Partnerships, you will be responsible for our technical partnerships end-to-end, reporting directly to our B2B Lead. This role involves building the product and business model with the customer, from the commercial model and contract to ongoing operation with a functioning API. You will build a repeatable revenue stream from ongoing individual cases.
Responsibilities
- Build commercial models including pricing tiers, service modules, margin, and risk logic, modeling and building business cases independently.
- Negotiate contract details, including service descriptions, forecasting responsibility, billing logic, collateral, and SLAs.
- Manage the partner lifecycle from initial idea through onboarding, API integration, and regular operations, including ticket and escalation paths.
- Prioritize product requirements by translating partner needs into a roadmap with product and engineering, challenging feasibility.
- Validate new models such as market access without supply, storage optimization, and trading components, presenting them for decision-making.
- Drive alignment across commercial, product, engineering, risk, and balancing group management through argumentation, without direct authority.
Requirements
- Experience building pricing tiers, service modules, margin, and risk logic, and creating business cases independently.
- Experience negotiating contract details and representing positions.
- Proven track record of bringing at least one new business model, product, or partner model from idea to ongoing operation.
- Understanding of energy market concepts like balancing group, forecasting, and market access.
- Ability to understand APIs, data flows, and optimization logic to prioritize with product and engineering and challenge feasibility.
- Ownership of the partner lifecycle, managing topics end-to-end across multiple departments.
- Ability to start projects with unclear requirements, with 5-8 years of experience from startups, scale-ups, venture studios, or company builders.
- Willingness to be present in the office regularly and travel to partners.
- Experience with flexibility, battery storage, heat pumps, VPP, aggregator, or trading environments is a plus.
- Go-to-market sparring for partners is a plus.
