About the Role

As a Junior Quant Researcher (m/f/d), you will own alpha signals and risk models for leading technology funds and companies. You will report to the Director of Systematic Strategies & Risk and collaborate with Portfolio Management and Fundamental Research.

Responsibilities

  • Own the alpha-signal and risk-model lifecycle for a watchlist in benchmark-independent, highly active portfolios.
  • Systematically test hypotheses from the fundamental team, validating them with out-of-sample data.
  • Spend approximately 70% of your week on research, idea generation, and backtesting, and 30% on production code.
  • Translate economic hypotheses into testable time-series models (e.g., stationarity, autocorrelation, AR/MA/ARIMA, regularized regression).
  • Build models using Python and SQL on AWS with a Snowflake DWH, and leverage LLMs to convert alternative data into tradable signals.

Requirements

  • First full-time experience (1-2 years) in quantitative research or data science within the investment domain, or substantial internships.
  • Completed Master's or PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, economics, or finance with excellent results.
  • Proficiency in probability, regression, time-series analysis, and foundational machine learning concepts.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
