About the Role
As a Working Student within Career Services, you will support the day-to-day delivery of career services, student engagement activities, events, and employability initiatives at BSBI. This is a hands-on role for someone organised, proactive, and comfortable managing different tasks and priorities, working closely with Careers Advisors and often being a first point of contact for students.
Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for Career Services, helping students and recent graduates understand the services, resources, and support available.
- Manage the Careers shared mailbox, responding to general student inquiries, directing queries, and following up.
- Work with tasks assigned through Microsoft Planner, tracking deadlines, updating status, and ensuring timely completion.
- Act as an ambassador for JobTeaser, helping students understand the platform and encouraging engagement with career opportunities, resources, and events.
- Support the preparation, coordination, and delivery of career workshops, webinars, and other employability initiatives.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of employer events, career fairs, company visits, and networking activities at the Berlin campus.
- Help create and distribute student-facing communications and promotional materials for career programmes, workshops, events, and opportunities.
- Support Career Services with student engagement and programme administration, including registrations, attendance records, feedback, and basic reporting.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Campus Management, Marketing, Student Life, and other BSBI teams to support Careers initiatives.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Careers Advisors and contribute to other Career Services projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a BA or MA-level student at BSBI.
- Excellent command of English (C2 level or equivalent), with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisation and task-management skills, with the ability to manage several responsibilities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Previous experience using task-management or collaboration tools such as Microsoft Planner.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A genuine interest in careers, employability, and professional development.
- Understanding of the skills employers look for in students and graduates.
- Strong intercultural communication skills and confidence working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Empathy and the ability to communicate with students in an impartial, professional, and supportive manner.
- A proactive mindset, comfortable taking ownership of assigned tasks, asking questions, and following through to completion.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with student communications, registrations, data, and administrative processes.
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
