About the Role

Keep medical records accurate and up to date by preparing, scanning, filing, and quality-checking patient records within the Scanned Medical Record (SMR) system. Support medical transcription by assisting clinicians and external stakeholders with the iMedX Transcription system and related applications. Manage patient correspondence, ensuring letters and medical information are processed accurately and sent promptly. Handle sensitive information with care, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Collaborate with clinicians, Social Work, and multidisciplinary teams to locate, track, and retrieve medical records while providing flexible administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, scan, file, and quality-check patient records within the Scanned Medical Record (SMR) system.
  • Assist clinicians and external stakeholders with the iMedX Transcription system and related applications.
  • Process patient correspondence accurately and ensure prompt delivery to the correct GP, clinic, or healthcare provider.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when working with patient and medical records.
  • Liaise with clinicians, Social Work, and multidisciplinary teams to locate, track, and retrieve medical records.
  • Provide flexible administrative support.

Requirements

  • Previous clerical or administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work flexibly and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, including professional phone manners and customer service focus.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience scanning medical records.
  • Data entry or record processing skills are highly regarded.
  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have an Australia visa that grants the necessary work rights.
  • Employment is conditional upon the completion of all role-required pre-employment checks, including relevant immunisations.
