About the Role
The Planning & Control department is responsible for the steering and implementation of central IT projects and operational tasks at BVG. It coordinates collaboration between departments, technical teams, and external partners, overseeing projects from planning to successful execution. This ensures a high-performing, future-oriented IT landscape aligned with company goals. You will be responsible for the further development and economical operation of the storage, SAN, and backup/restore infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for Change and Configuration Management according to ITIL and ensure secure and stable 24/7 operation in your steering and coordination tasks.
- Planning, evaluation, and control of complex system changes are part of your responsibilities – analyzing impacts, risks, and costs, and coordinating all involved departments, teams, and external partners.
- You will accompany contract awards as well as tender and awarding procedures and communicate with all stakeholders.
- You develop technical strategies for central IT systems, plan and accompany infrastructure projects, and ensure the continuous development of our server, cloud, and communication landscape.
- Together with internal and external partners, you optimize processes, define standards, and ensure compliance with security requirements, service level agreements, and quality objectives.
- With your technical expertise and strategic vision, you contribute to ensuring the availability, security, and future viability of BVG's central IT services.
Requirements
- Completed scientific university degree (Master's or Diploma) in Business Informatics or Computer Science, or equivalent skills and knowledge based on many years of professional experience.
- Sound knowledge in the operation of complex IT infrastructures with Windows servers.
- Experience in operating virtualization, storage, or data center environments.
- Knowledge in the areas of server hardware, server operating systems, LAN/SAN infrastructures, and central infrastructure components.
- Experience in public procurement and purchasing law.
- Very good German language skills (minimum C1 level) and secure professional English language skills in speaking and writing.
