About the Role

Serve as a Sales Development Representative driving new business in target segments for Deputy. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to execute on a new outbound strategy. Source and build pipelines for Account Executives in the SMB and Mid-Market segments by building relationships with leads in our ICP, utilizing social selling, inbound and outbound email and calls, and text messaging to book demos.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, engage and qualify strategic prospects in target segments and industries to generate pipeline and create qualified opportunities for our AMER sales team.
  • Engage with potential clients through various communication channels such as calls, emails, LinkedIn, texts and live chat platforms aimed at creating new business opportunities.
  • Run qualification calls with prospects to determine if they should be passed to AEs for the next stage.
  • Demonstrate attentive listening skills when understanding customer requirements and articulate how Deputy can meet those needs better than other solutions.
  • Take rigorous notes and maintain data cleanliness in the CRM to ensure quality handoff to AEs.
  • Consistently meet established quota targets that will contribute to the company's revenue growth.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional quota-carrying sales experience as an Inbound SDR or similar role at a Saas company, with a proven track record of achievement and the desire to build a career in sales.
  • Team player and demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Excellent phone presence and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A love for making an impact and working with a team to hit key goals and metrics.
  • Passion and curiosity around technology, with the ability to comprehend and articulate value points to customers.
  • Naturally curious individual who wants to understand the why behind the why.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and other sales enablement tools (i.e. Outreach, Sales Navigator, Cognism).
  • Startup and/or people tech experience is a plus.
