About the Role
As a Field Service Manager at United Rentals, you will lead a major maintenance enterprise, hire and motivate a team of Field Service Technicians, and directly supervise all field repair and maintenance employees. You will continually improve efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and repaired, and work closely with the Branch Manager to build a profitable location.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for continually improving efficiency as well as customer and employee satisfaction within the field repair and maintenance team
- Oversee dispatch of field technicians within entire Metro Area territory to maximize efficiency and customer service
- Work closely with Operations Managers and Service Managers to ensure service is properly scheduled and executed to guarantee superior customer service
- Motivate, coach and train technicians to exceed time & quality standards and comply with standard repair and maintenance processes
- Responsible for R&M, P&L and associated costs/budget
- Oversee parts department activities, to ensure optimal customer service, technician/shops/OEC productivity and cost control
- Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
- Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Extensive Equipment Fleet Maintenance and leadership experience (10 years)
- Strong motivational and leadership skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L
- Basic computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel
- This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
