About the Role

Unity's Web platform enables games and real-time 3D content to run in a browser on any internet-connected device. This role involves maintaining and extending the Unity Web runtime, working closely with C++, C#, and JavaScript, and contributing to a major partnership that will expose your work to a vast audience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and extend the Unity Web runtime, contributing features and fixes across the platform
  • Improve the download size, load time, and startup performance of Web builds
  • Develop, profile, debug, and optimize across C++, C#, and JavaScript
  • Scope work with manager and teammates, building on established codebase patterns
  • Investigate and fix issues raised by internal teams and developers shipping on the Web platform
  • Keep pace with the browser's evolving capabilities and share learnings with the team

Requirements

  • Hands-on development experience with C++
  • Working familiarity with C# and/or JavaScript
  • Curiosity about how browsers work under the hood
  • Ability to profile, debug, and optimize native code
  • Effective written/verbal communication within a distributed, multi-functional team
  • A forward thinker who perseveres on low-level problems
  • Sufficient knowledge of English for professional verbal and written exchanges

Salary/Compensations

  • Zone A UK: £42,900 - £64,300 GBP gross
  • Zone B UK: £49,000 - £73,600 GBP gross
  • Zone A Finland: €51,800 - €77,600 EUR gross
  • Zone A Lithuania: €41,800 - €62,600 EUR gross
