About the Role
Responsible for leading, coordinating, and working with facility support staff and contractors to care for the physical residence and infrastructure, ensuring buildings and improvements are maintained to the highest aesthetic and performance standards. Partners with the Austin Facilities Manager to meet companywide objectives and leads team members to provide facilities support.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Austin Facilities Manager and Facility team to meet objectives.
- Lead and manage the facility support team to achieve the highest level of service, detail, and performance standards.
- Coordinate, manage, and/or perform all aspects of indoor/outdoor maintenance and service related to the facility, including HVAC, MEP, lighting, etc.
- Qualify and manage contract firms and ensure appropriate quality.
- Conduct frequent reviews of the physical surroundings to ensure quality issues are identified and rectified.
- Carry out special projects as required.
- Anticipate and make recommendations regarding the long-range needs of the facilities.
- Make recommendations to improve and upgrade the level of detail, service, and operational sophistication.
- Assist in planning and coordinating all required additions, modifications, or changes to the properties.
- Provide facility-related consulting (e.g., MEP) for assigned projects.
- Assist in formatting and administering facility budgets.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing education to staff to ensure high standards of service and performance.
- Implement company directives, including reporting processes, systems, logging data, information collection, and the Facilities maintenance portal.
- Participate in team on-call rotation.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with all relevant OSHA safety regulations.
- Out of town travel on occasion and participation in an on-call rotation are required.
Requirements
- College degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field and 5 years of management experience; or any combination of education, licensing, specialized training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Excellent knowledge of HVAC, MEP, and other equipment associated with sophisticated buildings.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; positive attitude.
- Demonstrated managerial and organizational skills.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to responsibilities.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction/operational specifications.
- Excellent computer skills and smartphone proficiency.
- Excellent time management skills; ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Private estate/hotel/ hospitality/museum experience is valued but not required.
- Extensive standing, walking, bending and heavy lifting.
- Occasional desktop computer work.
- Driving of personal vehicle required to various locations.
- Outdoor setting, rough terrain.
- Occasional office/cubical setting work.
- Noise level is moderate to loud.
- Must complete a background check and drug test before employment.
