About the Role
As a Case Manager at HELP Webster Ave, a shelter for single adult women in the Bronx, New York, you will provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed intake and assessment for clients. You will track client progress in the CARES case management system and coordinate service linkages for medical, mental health, legal, educational, and other essential services.
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed intake and assessment for clients.
- Track client progress in the CARES case management system.
- Coordinate and provide service linkages for medical and mental health care.
- Coordinate and provide service linkages for immigration legal services.
- Coordinate and provide service linkages for childcare, school registration, and related services.
- Coordinate and provide service linkages for ESL instruction, interpretation, and translation services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, or equivalent skills and experience.
- Bilingual fluency in a second language, ideally Spanish/English.
- Case management experience working with vulnerable people who have experienced significant trauma.
- Crisis intervention experience.
- Basic understanding of immigration laws and procedures.
- Great organizational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure.
- Strong computer skills required.
