About the Role

Steel Sports is a Social Impact organization dedicated to inspiring youth to reach their potential through athletic and personal development. Our mission is to forge the next generation of leaders by instilling core values like Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, and Commitment. We create a positive youth sports experience for over 100,000 athletes annually, investing in coach development and offering opportunities for collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • On-field program leadership including coaching teams, communication, and issue management.
  • Coach and staff development through symposiums, hiring assessments, training, and onboarding.
  • Player development and retention, including curriculum management, team development programs, and VEO management.
  • Execution of soccer tryouts, including coordination, ID clinics, coach selection, and offer follow-up.
  • Internal marketing, family engagement, and communication, including club announcements, team manager communication, and score keeping.
  • Fostering club culture and social impact through initiatives like Challenge Coins and the Athlete Leadership Council.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with children.
  • Prior knowledge of the fundamentals of soccer.
  • Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, ethical, and committed to the mission of Steel Sports.
  • Successfully complete the application and screening process.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply principles of quality youth development.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
  • Active engagement with and supervision of children requiring physical stamina, alertness, and emotional stability.
  • Have a general understanding of and proficiency with computer technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to improving conditions and providing opportunities for all youth.
  • Able to encounter challenges with a solution mindset and remain optimistic despite setbacks.
  • Have a growth mindset for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position.
  • Has flexibility and adaptability in work style and in work environments.
  • Able to meet deadlines and complete tasks/projects on-time.
  • Candidates must have access to consistently reliable transportation.
