About the Role
The Senior Staff Accountant works with the Controller to develop and implement processes for meaningful financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller in the accurate collection of financial transactions.
- Assist the Controller with month-end closing procedures.
- Accept responsibility for the maintenance of assigned accounts.
- Responsible for accounting records for CCANY and its affiliates.
- Conduct and report on internal audits, as assigned.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations, and CCANY’s policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR Must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed.
- Proficient in excel and other software products used for tracking the flow of information.
- Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and ability to work in a team environment.
Skills
- Proficient use of Sage Intacct, the financial accounting software.
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct ERP software a plus.
- Exposure to payroll processing a plus.

Salary/Compensations
- $73,000.00 - $75,000.00 Salary/year
