About the Role
The Senior Director, CRE US & CALA Region is responsible for managing and overseeing the delivery of Corporate Real Estate services to RBC and CNB businesses across the region. This includes strategic planning, property acquisition and disposal, capital project delivery, facilities operations, and budget management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, direct, and manage the regional CRE team.
- Drive enterprise CRE strategy and performance as a member of the Global CRE Operating Committee.
- Understand and anticipate business requirements to align the CRE portfolio with business strategy.
- Acquire and manage high-quality premises at the best possible value.
- Build and maintain senior-level regional relationships with RBC and CNB businesses.
- Ensure consistent delivery of integrated real estate services (planning, transactions, capital projects, facilities management, operations) to global standards.
- Ensure day-to-day operations and maintenance of premises align with the CRE global operating model and standards.
- Support M&A activity from a real estate perspective.
- Provide real estate expertise, strategy, and direction on property initiatives.
- Track and manage occupancy of premises, leveraging data for strategy.
- Oversee execution of property transactions.
- Oversee efficient lease administration and compliance with regional legislation, policies, and standards.
- Establish and achieve CRE savings targets in liaison with CRE Global Operating Committee and CRE Finance.
- Ensure regular and accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee the establishment and management of the annual financial and capital plans.
- Ensure the delivery of expected client service levels within prescribed budgets.
- Provide governance oversight for CRE operations, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Manage risk through consistent application of controls.
- Ensure appropriate governance, oversight, and reporting for service partners and external consultants.
- Ensure effective channels for issue escalation and reporting.
- Oversee and manage the delivery of all construction projects and initiatives.
- Ensure application of global design standards for construction projects.
- Ensure adherence to CRE project delivery processes, practices, metrics, tools, and systems.
- Ensure the establishment and monitoring of quantitative performance standards and provide timely reporting.
- Ensure effective delivery of facilities management operations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to outsourced Facilities Management service providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of regulatory breaches.
- Manage the CRE CRM model for effective relationships with key business contacts.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with functional support teams and service partners.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with CRE Global Operating Committee members, regional leads, and Centers of Excellence.
- Adhere to mandatory training requirements and ensure a development plan is in place.
- Ensure regional CRE team alignment with RBC policies and standards for training and development.
- Ensure direct reports have development plans.
- Lead and execute major CRE programs and initiatives to optimize organizational structure and service delivery.
- Drive CRE organizational performance and delivery excellence.
- Identify opportunities to embed and promote best practices.
- Lead and deliver ongoing development of the CRE team performance and culture.
Requirements
- University Degree or equivalent.
- 15+ years of experience in Corporate Real Estate.
- At least 5+ years in a senior executive capacity.
- Demonstrable experience managing an international corporate real estate portfolio.
- Strong cost control and strategic business acumen.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with senior business executives.
- Experience building, developing, and leading teams of professionals, ideally within a geographically diverse portfolio.
- Proven knowledge of all aspects of project management processes.
- Experience managing outsourced vendor relationships.

- For Los Angeles: $187,000 - $265,000
- For North Carolina & Minnesota: $170,000 - $250,000
