About the Role
Flight Nurses will safely transport patients to and from medical facilities and respond to scene calls. This role emphasizes safety, effective, and efficient patient care within a professional team committed to high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess situations to determine the best course of action to support, monitor, and treat patients in critical care.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to manage critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patients and support physician orders.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked aircraft environment, perform regular equipment and base checks, and comply with safety standards and briefings.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with air and ground teams, dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
- Share shift change information with the transitioning team and follow protocols for accurate documentation and records.
- Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.
- Be on-time, reliable, professional, and meet elevated standards in safety and service.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in an Emergency or Adult Critical Care setting as a licensed RN.
- Current RN license in the states served by the assigned area.
- EMT Certification & Trauma Certification in state(s) where required.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required prior to flight status.
- Certified Registered Flight Nurse (CFRN) required within 24 months from date of hire.
