About the Role
The Meetings and Events Management team is seeking a Senior Deputy Director, Planning and Performance. You will foster consistency, scalability, and operational excellence within the team. You will lead the development and optimization of planning processes, standards, tools, and best practices, while leading, coaching, and supervising a team of event planners and digital specialists. You will ensure excellence in planning and consistent delivery of a diverse portfolio of internal and external meetings and events.
Responsibilities
- Embody and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the company.
- Drive efficiency gains, quality improvements, and consistency through new and improved processes aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with partners and key stakeholder groups to reimagine existing processes, integrate appropriate technologies, design, test, and evaluate new process models, formulate business cases, and implement/deploy the new model.
- Manage the human side of change to achieve desired operational excellence, including communication, coaching, transition, and training.
- Inform stakeholders of process impacts to ensure they understand the scope.
- Contribute to the dissemination of messages related to process changes.
- In collaboration with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on best practices and strategic direction.
- Participate in setting team objectives.
- Provide recommendations on the development of the team's annual expense budget.
- Advise on prioritization and allocation of process improvement initiatives.
- Develop, as needed, training plans for new and existing employees to foster their continuous development.
- Manage the performance of direct reports and make related compensation decisions.
- Participate in the development of team best practices.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills to gather information on process requirements, obtain necessary approvals, build relationships, and motivate others to succeed.
- Willingness to understand the event planning industry, its culture, and the nuances that impact processes.
- Curious and creative mindset with a strong ability to dissect and creatively solve complex problems to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to analyze complex data to determine appropriate actions based on objectives.
- Strong execution skills to ensure effective deployment of improvement and transformation opportunities in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing projects.
Skills
- Proven leadership experience and ability to inspire, coach, and develop people and teams.
- At least two years of experience in supervision and implementing operational process improvements or initiatives.
- Knowledge of the financial services or insurance sector is an asset.
- Experience with SAP, budgeting, and financial systems.
- Project management and change management experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to prepare and deliver presentations to senior management.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization.

- $71,900 - $119,800 per year
