About the Role

Empower Me is seeking dynamic, community-driven, team players to promote and implement an energy savings program designed for multi-lingual communities in the Toronto and Mississauga regions. This is an hourly, part-time, hybrid position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshops with community groups online and in person.
  • Promote the Empower Me program within your community.
  • Plan and attend community events as a representative of Empower Me.
  • Report on relevant experiences working as a Community Outreach Facilitator.
  • Maintain accurate records through data entry and record keeping.

Requirements

  • Professional spoken fluency in English and at least one additional language (Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Ukrainian, or Russian).
  • Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations.
  • Working ability to use email, Office 365 applications, online meetings, and web-based forms.
  • Excellent English skills – speak, read and write.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must have own transportation with valid driver’s license.

Skills

  • Speaking multiple languages is considered an asset.
  • Connections to community groups and associations within the regions.
  • Outreach, networking or sales experience.
  • Work or volunteer experience with community-level groups.
  • Experience as a workshop facilitator, teacher experience, public speaker, LINC or ESL instructor, or in a similar instructional or presentation role is considered a strong asset.
  • Organization and planning skills.
  • Familiarity with energy, sustainability, and conservation or willingness to learn.
