About the Role

Welcome members into the branch and provide professional expertise in the service and sales of deposit products, loan products, and convenient services. Originate, underwrite and close consumer and home equity loans. Interpret and process financial inquiries, account openings, service requests, and transactions. Secure credit union assets, balance transactions, and complete necessary reports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional expertise in the service and sales of deposit products, loan products, and convenient services.
  • Promote the credit union’s brand of savings, transparency, and financial education.
  • Meet established Credit Union and Branch goals through active participation in sales programs.
  • Originate, underwrite and close consumer and home equity loans following outlined policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to regulations governing the financial services industry.
  • Interpret and process a wide variety of financial inquiries, account openings, service requests, and transactions.
  • Secure credit union assets, balance transactions, and complete necessary reports.

Requirements

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between 8:45am – 5:45pm and rotating Saturdays 8:45am – 1:15pm at the New Berlin Branch location.
  • Two years of cash handling experience or experience serving and interacting with customers.
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to help people.
  • Ability to identify member opportunities for financial improvement, teach financial concepts, communicate recommendations, and provide support.
  • Ability to analyze and solve situations independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good decision-making skills and judgement.
  • Ability to perform calculations and proficiency in basic math skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and maintain accurate records.
  • A professional and friendly appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to confidently approach prospective members.
  • Must be compliant with TruStone Financial’s SAFE Act Policy, including fingerprint submission, FBI background check, and NMLS registration.
  • Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and various background checks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace.

Experience Level

  • Two years of cash handling or customer interaction experience
  • Previous experience recommending products and plans to improve a customer’s financial position (preferred)
  • Previous experience underwriting loans (preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of banking and/or credit union regulations (preferred)

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or four years of equivalent work experience.

Salary/Compensations

  • $23.50 to $29.50 per hour
