About the Role

The New York Philharmonic is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager to support musicians at one of the world's most renowned orchestras. This role involves coordinating orchestra operations, managing auditions, and ensuring an exceptional experience for musicians, guest artists, and conductors.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day activities of the Orchestra Personnel Office.
• Coordinate orchestra auditions, including candidate communications, scheduling, and on-site operations.
• Prepare and communicate orchestra schedules, seating rosters, and personnel updates.
• Coordinate the engagement of substitute and extra musicians for various events.
• Partner with internal departments to support orchestra activities and musician engagement.
• Assist with onboarding, payroll, and personnel records.
• Travel with the orchestra as assigned and provide departmental leadership support in the absence of the Orchestra Personnel Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of administrative, operations, personnel, or arts administration experience.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
