About the Role
This position supports the City of Austin’s Learning, Engagement & Development (LEAD) Office, providing business, analytical, and project support across the office's programs and strategic initiatives. The role involves research, analysis, drafting communications, tracking projects, and improving business processes, impacting employees, leaders, and departments across the City of Austin.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis.
- Draft memos, reports, presentations, and executive briefing materials.
- Track projects, priorities, and deliverables.
- Analyze program and performance information.
- Support procurement and vendor activities.
- Develop and maintain SharePoint resources.
- Document and improve business processes.
- Assist in planning, executing, and closing projects.
- Develop and maintain databases for data analysis and research.
- Assist in preparing recommendations for policy, procedure, and process changes.
- Write reports summarizing findings, data collection, and implementation options.
- Establish project schedules and maintain project status reports.
- Communicate project/process status.
- Conduct research, analyze trends, and evaluate alternatives.
- Facilitate and document meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting.
- Maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Support high-visibility projects and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate multiple projects and initiatives by tracking timelines, deliverables, action items, decisions, and status.
- Facilitate meetings and process-improvement sessions.
- Analyze program, project, and performance information to aid decision-making.
- Administer and maintain LEAD’s SharePoint sites, resources, and content.
Requirements
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job.
- One (1) year experience related to the job.
- Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior leadership through executive-level research and communications.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects and tracking timelines, deliverables, action items, and status.
- Demonstrated experience documenting and improving business processes.
- Demonstrated experience supporting procurement and vendor activities, including ProCard purchasing or comparable purchasing-card responsibilities.
- Experience with Workday or a comparable enterprise system, including extracting, analyzing, and reporting data.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Teams.
- Experience developing professional business materials, reports, and presentations.
- Ability to travel to multiple work locations.
- A detailed and complete City of Austin application is required.

- Proof of education from an accredited organization or institution is required.
- Proof of professional licenses or certifications is required.
