About the Role
The Merchandising Assistant Store Manager in Training (MASM-IT) program provides hands-on experience in Specialty Assistant Store Manager responsibilities at The Home Depot. This comprehensive training includes mentorship and leadership development, preparing trainees to oversee merchandising departments, enhance customer service, and ensure product availability and store presentation.
Responsibilities
- Supervise associates in selling efforts and lead GET culture.
- Drive customer service and associate engagement, ensuring effective customer concern resolution.
- Perform Opening, Closing MOD, and whole store focus responsibilities.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and hazmat procedures.
- Plan merchandise placement, signing, and support stock integrity through inventory management.
- Maintain and operate store equipment and systems.
- Manage daily financial operations.
- Participate in a structured training program covering retail store management.
- Learn and demonstrate tactics for staffing, scheduling, stock deficiencies, sales behaviors, customer issue resolution, and service needs.
- Learn and demonstrate the performance management and associate disciplinary processes.
- Complete all assigned training modules and assessments.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- 1 year of work experience.
- 3 years of leadership experience.
