About the Role
docbraces MCO has an exciting Full-time opportunity, looking for a talented Registered Dental Hygienist to join our docbraces MCO team, working out of our four locations in York and Durham Regions. Canadian Orthodontic Partners provides support services to docbraces MCO and our national network of community-based clinics in delivering personalized Orthodontic treatment. Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and support enthusiastically, building a personal connection at every visit.
- Ensure patients receive optimal hygiene treatment based on clinical findings and their goal for comprehensive oral health.
- Help, educate, and improve patients’ lives.
- Collect patient’s dental and relevant medical history for reference during examinations.
- Prepare patients for the Orthodontist.
- Prepare patient and equipment for X-Rays.
- Take X-Rays and follow all safety procedures.
- Examine gums for infections or gum disease.
- Clean patient’s teeth to remove plaque, polish, floss, and brush.
- Bond and remove brackets and orthodontic appliances.
- Place and remove arch wires.
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene habits and treatment progress.
- Update patient records and examination notes.
- Perform all lab duties/requirements as instructed by the Orthodontist or leadership team.
- Prepare and maintain all dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Call patients for aftercare and answer questions.
- Travel to satellite locations if/when necessary.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to provide an atmosphere of trust, respect, and cooperation.
- Possess great energy for a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or Hygiene Degree program.
- Registered and/or licensed by the dental hygiene regulatory authority within province, in good standing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, with an ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Experience in an orthodontic office is preferred but not required.
- Current CPR and First Aid training.
