About the Role

Access is seeking an Outreach Specialist to join the Orange County Healthy Families program. This role focuses on supporting new and expectant parents and caregivers to reduce stress and foster bonding with their child. The primary goal is to increase program capacity by generating referrals through community outreach and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive working relationships with community service providers.
  • Represent the program on community panels and conduct regular community outreach.
  • Maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships with referral sources (e.g., OBGYN, WIC, health clinics, hospitals, community-based organizations).
  • Become knowledgeable in the Healthy Families program and effectively communicate its benefits.
  • Work with a small caseload of families, conducting home visits and engaging families based on a strength-based model.
  • Introduce and lead parent-child activities that support healthy attachment and child development.
  • Provide daily support and crisis management skills to families.
  • Partner with families to create plans with attainable goals for parent and child well-being.
  • Maintain thorough written records of home visits, family goals, and all required documentation.
  • Attend mandatory Healthy Families trainings and complete ongoing trainings as identified by Supervisor.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and regular team meetings.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft.
  • Experience with data entry.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and possible weekend events.
  • Effective written and communication skills.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation for driving throughout Orange County.
  • Must be capable of sitting or standing in front of a computer for long periods.
  • Able to work in an open space floor plan.
  • Must be capable of moving throughout the workday and following clients in the community.
  • Able to work alongside coworkers within 3 feet.
  • Must be able to move in tight spaces.
  • Occasional lifting of over 25 pounds.
