About the Role
The International Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for VAT/GST compliance obligations across EMEAI and Asia. This role involves analyzing and implementing new indirect tax legislation, developing internal policies and processes, and identifying opportunities to maximize indirect tax savings and mitigate exposures in EMEAI and Asia.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EMEAI and Asia indirect tax laws and other indirect taxes legislation regarding e-invoicing and digital reporting.
- Manage tax authority inquiries related to indirect tax compliance and support the Director with indirect tax audits across EMEAI and Asia.
- Identify and continuously improve indirect tax processes and internal controls.
- Stay updated on indirect tax legislation changes, analyze their impact on Air Canada operations, and communicate findings to branch financial officers.
- Collaborate with the Director to implement changes for compliance with new legislation and develop company-wide indirect tax awareness through seminars and training.
- Proactively communicate and work with the Director regarding the financial effects of key transactions, operations, new projects, and legislative changes.
- Collaborate with the IT group and other system stakeholders to ensure continuous cooperation with the Tax Department for system implementations and modifications.
- Develop guidelines, training materials, and job aids for the Tax Department.
- Assist the Director with all other related tasks.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to work in the United Kingdom without restriction.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment.
- Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.
