About the Role
RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join Collins Aerospace in Binghamton, NY. This role involves developing advanced flight and mission simulators for commercial and military customers, offering a dynamic environment to learn about aircraft systems and contribute to cutting-edge solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, documentation, development, debug, and testing of real-time simulated Aircraft Systems.
- Assist in developing detailed software specifications and providing accurate time estimates for software development.
- Perform system modeling and scientific programming.
- Apply knowledge to product domain, requirements, design, development, test, and release software processes, tools, methods, and coding best practices, with a primary emphasis on software design and development.
- Incorporate appropriate Collins Aerospace processes and tools into product development to increase product quality and improve customer satisfaction.
- Design, code, integrate, regression test, test, and document software.
- Perform software debugging using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification, and validation for products and sub-systems.
- Provide engineering estimates for own work on tasks similar to those previously performed.
- Contribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis, and creation for well-defined software designs.
- Support and enhance existing software products as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.
- Experience developing applications in C, C++, or C#.
- Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, support).
- Experience with Visual Studio and/or Eclipse.
- Experience utilizing MS Office Applications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
