About the Role

Wattpad is seeking an HR Generalist to shape the employee experience from onboarding through every milestone. This role involves curating welcoming moments and building the operational HR foundation for the team. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about creating memorable employee moments and developing a well-rounded HR skill set, taking initiative and an employee-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees regarding all aspects of employment and the employee lifecycle.
• Manage HR processes and interpret HR policies, ensuring a clear and consistent approach.
• Lead the employee experience by drafting communications, coordinating events, and administering calendars.
• Manage the onboarding experience, including orientation sessions, first-week programming, and check-ins.
• Manage the off-boarding experience, including all HR processes and conducting exit interviews.
• Manage and administer employee leaves, accommodations, and initial employee relations inquiries.
• Support cyclical People processes (performance reviews, engagement surveys, compliance tasks) with scheduling, tracking, and reporting.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in HR, people operations, employee experience or talent acquisition.
• Ability to communicate in a confidential and clear manner with employees and managers.
• Experience with an HRIS (e.g, ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR).
• Strong written communication skills: ability to write a crisp, warm employee announcement without heavy editing.
• Organized and reliable: ability to juggle multiple programs, deadlines, and budgets without letting things slip.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Discretion and good judgment with confidential information.
