About the Role
The Director of Construction Technologies is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the delivery, implementation, integration, and optimization of construction technology solutions for large, complex capital projects. This role leads a team of technology consultants, implementation specialists, developers, and trainers who support project owners, contractors, and construction management firms throughout the project lifecycle. As a platform-agnostic technology leader, this role serves as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them evaluate, deploy, configure, customize, and maximize the value of industry-leading construction software solutions, ensuring successful adoption of digital construction technologies while driving operational excellence, innovation, and measurable project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of technology professionals, implementation specialists, developers, and trainers.
- Establish strategic vision, growth plans, and service offerings for the Digital group.
- Develop and execute business plans aligned with organizational objectives and market opportunities.
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of innovation, client service, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders, technology vendors, construction owners, and contractor leadership teams.
- Serve as executive sponsor and trusted advisor on large, complex construction and capital project engagements.
- Assess client business processes and technology requirements to develop comprehensive digital construction strategies.
- Guide clients through software selection, implementation planning, and organizational change management initiatives.
- Lead executive-level presentations, workshops, and technology roadmap discussions.
- Ensure successful project delivery while meeting client expectations, schedules, and financial objectives.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, administration, and optimization of construction technology platforms.
- Lead teams responsible for system setup, workflow configuration, customization, data migration, and integration activities.
- Ensure successful implementation of project controls, document management, field management, BIM, quality, safety, scheduling, and collaboration solutions.
- Develop standards, methodologies, and best practices for technology deployment across client engagements.
- Collaborate with development teams to create custom applications, dashboards, automation tools, and reporting solutions.
- Establish comprehensive user adoption and training programs to maximize client success.
- Oversee development of role-based training materials, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
- Lead change management initiatives that improve technology adoption and business process transformation.
- Monitor adoption metrics and continuously refine training strategies based on client needs.
- Support business development efforts by participating in client presentations, proposal development, and solution planning.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing clients and pursue new market opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with software vendors and technology partners.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance service offerings and competitive differentiation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience leading construction technology, project controls, digital transformation, or technology consulting teams.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing high-performing consulting, implementation, or technology delivery teams.
- Experience supporting large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, transportation, healthcare, or commercial projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent complex client engagements.
- Strong understanding of construction project delivery methods, project controls, and construction workflows.
- Demonstrated experience leading software implementations, systems integrations, and enterprise technology deployments.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- Professional certifications related to construction technology, project management, BIM, or software platforms.
- Experience with software development, automation, APIs, data analytics, and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technology solutions and digital transformation methodologies.
