About the Role
This position is responsible for serving guests' beverages with the strictest regard to rules, regulations, and outlet operational guidelines, while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment. The role may serve in various settings including restaurants, buffets, casino floors, bars, banquets, theatres, or in-room dining.
Responsibilities
- Greets guests by name wherever possible
- Informs guests of any daily specials
- Explains how various beverages are prepared
- Takes guest orders and makes recommendations
- Prepares beverages
- Serves guests and checks to ensure satisfaction
- Resolves guest's issues or asks management for assistance
- Presents bill upon request and takes payment in the absence of a cashier
- Cleans tables or counters, removes glasses and re-stocks when applicable
- Delivers beverages to hotel rooms as directed when applicable and obtains signature and removes used trays
- Performs opening or closing duties as required
- Counts cash float at end of shift (if applicable)
- Covers other bartender sections when required
- Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages according to SIR, Smart Serve or IGB
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and liquor regulations
- Maintain knowledge of beverage menus, promotions, and specialty cocktails
- Verify guest age and comply with all responsible alcohol service requirements
- Monitor guest consumption and handle alcohol service responsibly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment, and storage spaces
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and service team members to ensure seamless operations
- Uphold company standards for hospitality, appearance, and professionalism
Requirements
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
