About the Role
The Jr. Cost Accounting Associate is responsible for ensuring import documents by division & approval of freight and duty bills. Supports in Month end and Qtr. end closing. This position supports the Wholesale Footwear business.
Responsibilities
- Breakdown the duties, freight charges, broker’s fee, & trucking charges by style/purchase order by division
- Prepare and upload data of duty allocation by shipment
- Audit & approve bills for sea freight charges shipped under our direct or in-direct contracts with carriers
- Check documents sent with shipping advices
- List approved broker into excel sheet
- Support in month and quarter end closing
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience in related field
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with accounting/important preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to understand and follow somewhat complex verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others
- Decisions are guided by precedent and interpretation of applicable laws, etc. and have impact on others and the organization
- Work responsibilities occasionally concern confidential and/or sensitive information requiring the use of discretion
- Job duties are somewhat varied, occasionally requiring conceptualizing, planning and implementing
- Assertive self-starter with strong decision-making ability
- Ability to work in a multi-task
