About the Role
Solution Architect of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) responsible for defining customer requirements, designing, configuring, and testing BLUE YONDER products, and supporting customer cutover activities in Japan.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall solution and implementation from a functional perspective, ensuring alignment with customer business processes.
- Understand and recommend supply chain execution solution architecture, workflows, and integrations.
- Lead business diagnostics, process analysis, and design workshops.
- Write solution design documents to support business requirements.
- Create functional specifications detailing solution configuration at data, database, and application levels.
- Configure and test designed solutions.
- Create system integration test plans and scripts.
- Support customer UAT planning and scenario development.
- Raise change requests (CR) for design modifications and communicate with customers and internal teams.
- Communicate with Support and Product Development teams to address solution bugs or enhancements.
- Ensure knowledge transfer to key customer project teams and BY Support/Cloud Operations.
- Support stabilization of customer business operations post-go-live.
- Provide advice on industry best practices and process methodology.
- Communicate project risks and escalate issues impacting schedule, scope, or budget.
- Assist Project Managers with detailed project plan task details (work breakdown structure).
Requirements
- Experience working in Supply Chain business.
- 5+ years of specific experience in Logistics, TMS, or WMS for customers.
- Good understanding of E2E execution workflows, architecture, integration, and project lifecycle.
- Ability to define implementation plans and identify cross-functional dependencies.
- Project implementation experience in the Supply Chain domain (preferred).
- Experience with relevant solutions consulting and implementation with other leading supply chain solutions (e.g., SAP).
- Ability to drive discussions on functional processes and technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Preferably have experience of WMS workflow integration with WCS, warehouse automation, and robotics technology/partners.
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with customers and partners.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently effectively and proactively.
