About the Role
FSA Federal is seeking a Data Analyst (Legal Assistant) to support the United States Attorneys Office Financial Litigation Unit. This role is crucial in a nationwide initiative to remove crime tools, deprive wrongdoers of proceeds, and impact criminal enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Extract information from LIONS, PACER, Judgment in a Criminal Case, and Pre-sentence Report with minimal supervision.
- Create case folders and generate initial demand letters, liens, probation/prison letters, priority code memorandums, and memorandums to the victim-witness coordinator.
- Deliver case folders and opening documents to the FLU agent/investigator promptly.
- Coordinate with criminal prosecutors, financial investigators, probation officers, and the Clerk of the District Court to enforce restitution judgments.
- Generate reports for the Financial Litigation Unit to assist in criminal and civil debt collection, including pre-sentence reports, asset reports, credit reports, and Bureau of Prison Sentry reports.
- Ensure prompt report generation and secure maintenance of sensitive reports.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong analytical skills for researching factual and legal issues in complex criminal and civil matters.
- Ability to review and analyze data from multiple sources.
- Ability to establish case/project files.
- Ability to enter and retrieve data from databases.
- Ability to prepare and format management reports.
- Ability to manipulate, transfer, compute, and print information.
- Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
- Ability to prepare and correct reports and correspondence using word processing software.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Minimum 7-year background investigation required.
